Regular Chiropractic Adjustments and Flexibility

Many athletes swear by regular chiropractic adjustments, not only because it greatly helps for sore bodies, but also because of the benefits it offers in terms of increased performance. Did you know that Chiropractic can help to increase range of motion, flexibility, balance, coordination, and even reaction times and speed? It can help keep joints healthy and improve the condition of the entire musculoskeletal system. You probably don’t need the flexibility of a gymnast or the range of motion of a star athlete, but everyone could stand to be a little more flexible, with healthier joints, particularly as we age.

Why is flexibility important? Poor flexibility negatively impacts your strength and endurance. If you’re injured and you heal without good flexibility, your chance of re-injuring yourself is increased. Knowing that we should always be working toward better flexibility.

So how do you do that? A good exercise program is one very important way, and again you don’t need to be a star athlete. Walking is a great form of exercise and can be done on any level. Flexibility elongates your soft tissues, through the motion of your joints, and stretching these tissues can help alleviate aches and pains.
A chiropractic adjustment is another factor, realigning the bones and joints, effectively reducing pain, restoring range of motion, and improving flexibility. Along with manual adjustments, I use other techniques, like cold laser, trigger point therapy, and nutrition to increase circulation and further improve function.

Often, people stop exercising because they’re in pain. By addressing this pain, I can help you get moving again, which in turn will help prevent future aches, pains, and injuries! Because treatments like chiropractic work to improve the function of the whole body, rather than just focusing on pain relief, it helps get the body into better shape and decreases the chance of future injury.  In fact, regular chiropractic treatment can be the key to eliminating back and joint pain and keeping you active throughout the course of your life.

So don’t put off exercise and getting a monthly adjustment to keep you flexible and doing the things you love!
